The Distraction Log

Is a simple notepad where you write things that come to mind as you’re working.

Quick guide:

You can use the letter D for Distractions like “felt the urge to check my phone” and the letter R for reminders.

Your Distraction Log could look like this:

Example Scenario:

You’re in the middle of a focused work session and suddenly get reminded to call your accountant today about your tax return. This is obviously important and you don’t want to forget it.

Here’s what you do: take a quick few seconds to write this down in your Distraction Log and then get back to your focused work session.

R — Call accountant about tax return

Now that you wrote it down, you won’t forget about it. And you don’t have to stop yourself mid-way in your focused work session to deal with this immediately.
